I so wanted to comment but others have beaten me to it with sound advice. I'm not a fan of any oil impregnated filter on a car with a hot wire type sensor as oil mist from the filter can damage a MAF quite easily.... K&N seem to be trying to claim both ends of the stick as it were... better...

My 4.6 reads .11 g/s at idle so I'd say that is ok. I guess you've checked for air leaks on the exhaust system? What were your HC CO etc readings at the MOT?

I got mine idling a bit better and re-calibrated the rev counter so it's within the realms of plausibility...
