    Plastic Fuel Tank??

'pends on how much you need to store, but we found the best value to be IBC 1,000 litre tanks, available from about £25 upwards. We run rainwater recycling here that feeds the bog, the washing machine, the animals and outside taps, hooked up to three of those IBC tanks. Gotter keep them in...

    Plastic Fuel Tank??

I had a trawl of the web last night and couldn't find any Series plastic tanks. Where have they been seen?

    Disco rad.

40 notes sounds about right. Sometimes you can get lucky, but I coughed £40 for my 200 one recently. You anywhere near the road with yours yet?

That would be waaay too easy. No they don't fit sadly.

    Disco rad.

I aven't got one I'm afraid, Dr.P, but when you find one do note that 200TDi rads are slightly different to 300TDi ones. On a 200 the main pipes are one-each-side, on a 300 they are both on the same side. You probably already knew ...

Mmmm. I've kept maximum deflection angles to a minimum by having the gearbox pointing directly at the centre of the diff at mid-travel of the suspension. Worst case at full compression and full extension of the suspension is just short of 20deg on the yokes, which the yokes will take. It's...

Dammit ... I knew it was too cheap to be true! No - this gearbox is like a traditional RWD car gearbox, in that the sliding section is on the splines directly in the back of the gearbox. The whole prop is free to move back and forward in & out of that tin shroud on the 'box.

    EPS power steerings.

The Corsa version was discussed on 'ere yonks ago. some chap was recommending it, had fitted it to his (cobra replica?) kit car, said it had plenty of torque for that application. might find it on a search. from memory there were waterproofing issues as they don't like getting wet - more of a...

Actually mickdj - before you weld the new spring supports onto your axle, ie before you set in stone the inclination of your diff, is it safe to assume you know about prop phasing, and the possible importance of keeping the gearbox output shaft parallel with the diff input shaft? Some folk...

^ that's what I figured. But I didn't have a spare one to play with ... if I had I'd probably have had a go myself. They seem to have machined off the original weld between tube & end fitting, shortened the tube then welded back in the original place.

had a 4x4 prop shortened earlier this year, 'the propshaft clinic', they did it by post to my measurements. think it was £55 all-in which included balancing and posting back to me. very tidy job, came back repainted too. they were helpful & communicative emailers. recommended, and the best...

you'll need a fair few bits. biggest bit is the ally casting that supports the rear of the mainshaft, part 533731. needs to come complete with bearing, spacers, bearing retainers etc. Suggest you get this off a scrapper, as new could be expensive? you'll also need a new gasket 622047, a...

    Series III with engine conversion!

yeah it's a ford motor - as found in such delights as the 3-litre capri etc etc. Never had a Landy with this motor, but it was a popular conversion back in the 80's/90's. I did however run a Scimitar SE5a with this engine, from memory it was around 145bhp, and went well ... although you'll...

    Cranking trouble! What size battery?

A smoothing diode is one of four diodes in the back of an alternator that make up a 'bridge rectifier' (google it if you're interested) which is an electrical device that turns Alternating Current (as supplied by a bare alternator - the clue is in the name) into Direct Current (which your car...
