Got to agree on the looks thing. Landrover are going too bling/WAG with the latest models. I do like the looks of the L322 (well, except for those wing vents!) but after the facelift grill I think it went downhill.

A P38 that won't overheat?! Witchcraft I tell you!

Only thing I found when looking about is the 4.6 uses a different gearbox. Something about a 4 pin diff where as the 4.0 uses a 2 pin but I could be wrong!

just checked, outlet for cruise is on the lower half so you should be fine and the throttle linkage on that new one has the link for the cruise as well. Should be a straight swap.

Yep, the plenum was changed and swapped like for like. pipe sizes the same etc. Only difference I can see is the lack of a take off for cruise on that one pictured but I can't remember off the top of my head if its on the top or the bottom of the plenum chamber. I'll nip out with the torch...

My rangie is a 4.0 running a 4.6 plenum with no problems. Only difference I could see on mine is a take off for the cruise control which mine doesn't have fitted and the same with the throttle. would be worth checking if you have cruise on yours as not all 4.0 came with it.

Wouldn't say no to an L322! The wife dribbles over them! I'll have one some day when funds allow but my ideal would be a TDV8 so could be waiting a while! But I'm with you on light conversions. The P38 should only look like one thing... a P38.

Amen! Exactly what I'm looking into after my cheapo P38 did a dirty on the drive, glued it together with Kseal and hopefully it'll last long enough to become a parts car for a new one. As I see it, put a top hat block in there and its happy days from there in!

Cheers Fett, it can stay in there and linger! so happy its actually worked! So many on here turn there nose up at them, me included and I personally never believed it would work but its done what it said on the tin and proved me wrong so I'm not going to complain... for how long remains to be...

Final update for now I hope, the sealer and replacement pump, thermostat and cap have done the job! :D For the first time after a long run its not used a drop of water! Not a hint of overheating while stuck in traffic so I'm a very happy bunny! Fingers crossed this will at least get me through...

Well I ordered the bits from Island 4x4, they were marked as "Quality aftermarket"... They arrived in britpart bags! Not exactly my idea of quality! I suppose marking them as "Lacking in quality aftermarket" or "Shoddy quality aftermarket" wouldn't help to sell them really! But lesson learned...

Well, bits arrived this afternoon. Changed the expansion bottle cap as its a quicky before heading to edinburgh shopping and after a long run she was hissing from the cap but not losing water. Got back home and as I pulled onto the drive the temp started to climb and heard the rushing of water...
