What have you done to your Landie today.

Hi, only just catching up on this thread, my linkage is badly worn too. Could I have the details of where you got these replacement parts from? was it a kit? Thanks,

OK so I've had a look online and it looks like while it's easy to get an adapter for the pressure sensor (something like http://www.mattlewisracing.co.uk/product.php/1496/29/gauge_adaptor___matt_lewis_racing) it's not so easy to find an adapter that would take a temperature sensor as well. My...

Well it's not clearances. There's enough engagement and clearance between the parts. I've had it apart 3 times today, best I could do was reduce the flow to a steady drip which seemed to come from the the top of the oil filter. The spacer is as flat and parallel as I can measure without a...

For Sale LandRover mountain bike (maybe)

Hi There, So it's definitely a bike but it's my brothers and not really mine to sell. I've just serviced it for him and know he'd prefer to get a gravel bike so I'm wondering if it would be worth more to anyone on here who wants another G4 challenge item rather than him trying to flog it by...

yep, that's it. I'll also need to re-check the thread lengths to make sure that the threaded pipe (or whatever you call it) isn't bottoming out.

Thanks James, I'm of the same opinion. So wondering how I've screwed it up.....

Better images of the two sides So which side does the oil filter connect to? The top image would suggest oil filter on the flat side.

It came with a double O-ring seal on one side, the other being blank. If the two faces aren't completely parallel then I guess either face could be sitting incorrectly. Or perhaps I've fitted it upside down and it needed a new seal on top and the O-rings were to match with the oil filter?

It acts as a spacer between the oil filter and housing so you can fit extra sensors. I've put an oil temp and oil pressure sensor on mine. For said sensors without disturbing the rest of the normal plumbing. If I can't get it to seal at the weekend I think I'd be up for other options.

    oil filter adaptor not sealed

Hi all, anyone had success fitting one of these type things: I've just lost perhaps 3 liters of oil while picking up the shopping. Tesco's probably weren't best pleased with the mess I made, oops. Engine bay is rust proofed again for a while. I'll have to take a look at the weekend to find...

New Defender with issues that LR are at a loss why.

Well I don't know how JLR procure their software, so yes it's possible. I work for a bigger company that has VERY vigorous software testing, even then it's not uncommon for "features" to be found when in use by the customer. The more complex the system the more features you'll find. Remind me...

it's possible. depending what they contracted for they could have only got the compiled version.

yeah, I've been following them on youtube, not much chance you'd buy one with the experience they're dealing with - and they're "media"

VW passat - biggest boot for the size of car. Regularly around 60MPG. When things do break you've got a fair chance of repairing it yourself.

    Defender rear seat

Then maybe it's a 110 thing... Anyhow no tubular mounts fitted and we're veering a little bit off topic here. Personally I think it's just as important to make sure the seat doesn't decide to move around the vehicle as it is to have the seat belts secured. I'm sure the guys at VW knew what they...

    Defender rear seat

LOL, LR safer? You're not talking about side facing bench seats secured by a washer here are you? Show me where belt fixings are connect to the chassis (I'll put the disclaimer that mine's a should point out it's a '98 110), I'm fairly confident you'll find nothing extends to the chassis rails...
