It's always better to be safe than sorry and for the time it takes i always disconnected both to be on the safe side. There is a one way diode in the alternator that can blow if high current is forced through it.

They are normally white but those are convoy markings used by the mod. A light underneath shines on the paint so others following can see the vehicle and it doesn't show up from the air but why there's one on the front i have no idea.

I've got a never used seat out of a sherpa with integral seat belt that i need rid of if your interested. The frame legs are equal and as such bolt directly to the floor.

I take it you are either using a spanner or punching the nut around then?. Your better off using a socket but anyway,If your sure the outer race is seated properly all you do is tighten the hub nut whilst turning the hub until you start feeling some resistance then back it of an 1/8th of a turn...
