    Watch out there are copies of Webers around too which I've heard are also crap. If you buy a second hand 34ICH or DMTL make sure its got the right jets in for a Land Rover as they have been fitted to a lot of different engines and may be jetted for a much smaller or larger or revvyer engine.

    The RoverDrive one is a bit close to the 4th gear position for comfort...so I bent the stick a bit! If I had the time and tooling I'd quite like to make a dash/column mounted lever as even with the longer stick its a bit out of a reach and a bit intimate if there's a middle seat passenger!

    Blackburn - I think you misunderstand my post. Rockers are not tappets . Tappets are the things between the followers and the push rods and they cannot be got at without removing the head. "adjusting the tappets" is a misleading phrase.

    The weber 34ich is not that bad. They lose you a little power but save a useful amount of fuel, fit relatively easily and are pretty reliable. DMTL32/34 for a 90 is better than a 34ICH but then you need to find manifolds for a 90 too and do some faffing to make the exhaust fit to the manifold...
