Hmmmm, Andalucia is a big place let us know. I am on the Almeria/Murcia border and one hour away from either Almeria or san Javier airport to give you an idea of my location. If you have friends over here all well and good, if not and need a translator pm me for a number. Sorry for the...

    strange noise?

If you do not know the vehicle servicing history then now would be a good time to do the cam belt, either way the 'P' gasket behind the water pump might be a good idea? regards Dave

    wet loadspace

Check wheel arches where rear belts fix, these corrode and the water from the wheels splashes up and soaks in under the carpet and runs into the boot floor..........bin there dun that. regards Dave

    Wading kit

Spamming or not I used his kit which he sent over and it was nothing less than perfect!! Incidently, running the tubes up the inside of the snorkel can cause all sorts of problems if you roll it over (don't ask how I know) but the gear box/transfer/diffs ect empty themselves into the engine...

Where abouts in Spain are you coming to? regards Dave

    Stiff gearbox

Perhaps you misunderstood the mechanic? The gearbox uses automatic fluid, the transfer box uses EP 90. You can add a little teflon to the manual gearbox I got mine from the John Deere tractor dealer up the road to me, this was advised by a knowledgeable Land Rover parts person and did ease the...

    immobiliser on.....but no spider

Is it possible this is an aftermarket alarm system? I know you can wire in any typical alarm system and wire the LED to work the 'little red car' on the dash so perhaps this is not a factory immobiliser and the spider as indeed been binned? regards Dave

Discovery 1 Roof Spoiler Kit (STC 7756)

It is a proven fact that the spoiler at the rear can aid rear end grip, if you are holding it with both hands REAL TIGHT!!!:D regards Dave

    Handbrake

Before you do any of the above look for oil stains/leaks around the drum as the transfer box seal can leak. regards Dave

    steering problems

Running in ruts can give rise to strange feeback at the wheel, do not try to grip the wheel hard as this can cause all sorts of problems, just keep a light grip on the wheel and keep your thumbs clear. Now your back on the tarmac you can check for play by moving the steering wheel gently left...

    Front wheel bearings 1993/94 Disco

Be careful of packing the centre of the hub with grease, it will expand and will force itself past the seals, just make sure there is a space for expansion. regards Dave

Wiring for Tow Bar on TD5

If you go the scotchloc route then add a little grease before closing them, it keeps the damp out, otherwise later on the caravan/trailer lights start acting weird. regards Dave

HELP !!!!!!Radio interference with my immobiliser

At the end of the day if they are not working correctly i.e. frequency being off or whatever they do interefere with car alarms, run back through the thread and look at what the AA has come up with. Or BT spending all day sorting a problem which was causing intereference. regards Dave

    Modular Steel Wheels

I have 8" modulars on mine with the same tyres as you mention and lost lock as the stops had to be moved to stop the tyres fouling on the suspension arm. And spacers are not too cool either. regards Dave

    diso 200

Do a couple of searches as all the info is here somewhere, things to note, it is an easy job if you have done cam belts before. You will need a couple of gaskets, the belt, and replace the tensioner as well. Do up the crank nut real tight, and I mean real tight! Might be worth picking up a...

it just gets better and better

If it is only for a waterway then go to a local factor and grab a handful of potentials or pop into a breakers. If you are not replacing like with like be careful not to break into another waterway or crack the head. regards Dave

it just gets better and better

Does it lead to a waterway? How deep is the hole it goes into? Try a head bolt in there anyway to try and get an idea of the thread size ect. TBH I thought they were all head bolts along there? regards Dave

    bugger

Good to see your safe! Now I know you did not have any vibes before failure so what the hell happened, any ideas yet? A common problem on the tipper lorries (Daf) was that both diff lock lights would go out and yet they were still engaged. My brother in law was coming around the M25 when...

    Disco heater bodge?

I am unsure if the later R380 gearbox has the bias springs as does the LT77, if it has, at the base of the gearlever (remove rubber flange gasket and flange) will be a plate with two springs that press against the gearstick. They are upposed to hold the gear stick in the middle of 3rd and 4th...
