Thanks, the thing about the strike plate not being far enough out did it. I realised that if I closed it really hard it would actually lock so I moved it forwards by about 1mm. Closes and locks no problem now.

Thanks but I have the lock changed over, it only took about five minutes. The problem is that the lock still doesn’t work and I’m not sure if it’s user error or not.

So I’ve just got a 2001 TD5 110. I love it but for the life of me I can’t lock the back door. I thought the lock was just broken so I bought a new one from Bearmach. When I flick the latch on the inside up it stays up but when I close it I can still open it, and the latch is down. I don’t know...
