can't see a makers name on my s3 rad, the s1 has "Serck" on it, it isn't that old in terms of looks - although I have had the car at least 8 years - I think it was put in when the recon engine was done, a year or so before I bought it iirc

just thinking aloud here, can you strip an engine whilst it is in the car? seems to me its on a ready made bench - assuming the mounts are solid - and all round access should be fairly easy if the landy is sans front panel and wings

failed mot on emissions - hopefully just a timing issue - but the bolt holding the ratchet thing on the chain tensioner sheared when I was putting it back together. bit of a pita but not in any rush to get it sorted. the idea of a quick smoke and leak free fix was enticing.

well the big chevy passed its mot this morning - no advisories - so I am not under any pressure for drive space. So I can take my time with the 3 as I can probably go till march without needing it. going to have another go at doing the timing this time with all tappets loosened except 1 :D...
