Finally making a start on my camper conversion

Nothing to report today... 'Coz I was busy fitting new poly bushes to my rear radius arms. I'm off on a leisurely wander over to Loch Lomomdside tomorrow staying B&B in Tarbet ready to join in my first Scotgrc green-road driving day. Then I'll probably just be taking a slow wander home again...

    Defender angle eyes

I don't think it's dark enough for them to show well, but wait an hour or so and I'll go down and take a photo. Much to the amusement of some of my neighbours, but it wasn't too bad: Without flash: With flash: See what I mean about the sidelights though, I think it looks really stoopid...

    Defender angle eyes

I got these on my fender :o they are a lot brighter than the old lights but I need to replace a bulb as MOT noticed one was not as bright as the other, could be just a duff earth connection, but been too busy to check it out yet. The only thing with the angel eyes is the original sidelights are...

What have you done to your Landie today.

New bushes on the rear radius arms ... the auld ones were those pesky rubber ones, but the new ones are nice colourful Poly ones. First one took me minutes to get the arm off (I deliberately did the one that didn't need replacing first.) Anyway about 3 hours and several knackered screwdrivers...

Td5 Auto Slow Changing Into Top Gear.

I did that once on a forum, I'd been reading older threads and got right into the topic, and eventually had to put in my comments ... only to be told that the thread was about a zillion years old  I felt a proper charlie

Thanks for your input sypher, that is exactly what I will be using, I have some already at hand for my Eberspacher and a little left over for the genny. Good intentions and ideas are never too late. :)

    Strange request for left-over bits

Just an update to let everyone know I got what I was needing. AaronMorris very kindly sent me one he had and it was even better than I could have anticipated as his had two flanges on it (my old fender one only has one flange.) So after some judicious use of a hacksaw, I now have exactly what...

    19 year old geordie :D

I always thought of the Ford Zodiac V6 as the Dagenham Dustbin. I also had one of them a few years later, it was the Executive model with the overstuffed leather seats etc. I loved that car. I remember entering an advanced driver competition with it and you could see everyone sniggering...

Finally making a start on my camper conversion

Next .... The rain kinda slowed play down a bit for the past couple of days. But I have been doing a few wee bits and bobs indoors. I tried (and failed) to make a flange to fit the Genny exhaust manifold, because I'd overlooked the need for one. I had originally intended to cut the original...

    Rubber door strip removal

In that case, if you really wanna go at it, try and get some Trichloroethane (usually known as Trike) But use gloves as it is a carcinogen. Though I used it for years without gloves and appear to have got away with it. I'm not too sure where you could get it, I used to be able to get it...

    Hi just joined

MD90, Fellow scot, Perthshire here. I have used Paddocks I think 6 or 7 times and thrice times had a problem with my parcel. Once an expensive fuel pump was damaged in transit. They had put my fuel pump in a cardboard box and threw some paper/packaging on top of it. The pump had come to...

Finally making a start on my camper conversion

,, Yeah me too, if I am out for more than two days or so I book into a caravan site for a night to use their showers ... depending on where I am, if there is a council run site then I just wander in and use their facilities.

Finally making a start on my camper conversion

I have thought about popping over from JOG a few times, but have never done it yet. I probably will one year, as I have been on many of the other islands. Yeah, Toscaig and Applecross. Many years ago, I read an newspaper article about the pumps at Applecross. The story related how the...

Isn't that the auto self-righting mechanism? If it is, press it and the vehicle will turn the right way up.

Finally making a start on my camper conversion

Nah it was open daily during the summer months when I was going there most week-ends, even on Sundays, but that was when the post office was in the shopping mall. I missed going there the past couple of years. I never had reason to buy any fuel there 'coz I would re-fuel in Inverness and a...
