This is what I meant ... On the left you see an original hinge, and on the right is after I dremmled one. I'll screw that to my roof with a little sillycunt to seal everything. There is enough room for the strap to pass round the bar. oh and they are only 98p for two in B&Q

The fume curtain isn't included in the kit ... My plan for the back end is to use hinges. I've bought six brass plated ones, the type with a bar as the pivot point, and I will bolt them onto the roof, with the bar to the rear after I have dismantled them. The strap will pass through and around...

I had a similar feeling shortly after buying my fender, but after a few months of trial and error I found my problem and got it sorted out. Keep at it and don't be embarrassed by the rear end, it couldn't possibly be worse than this one :p :p :p Sowwwy I just couldn't resist it.

I think I may have stomped on a couple of members at the week-end when I bought my two, but the kits are so cheap (starting at 99p) I didn't mind paying £7 each for mine.

It really depends so much on what you intend to do with it. For off roading most will suggest a hi-lift jack as they can be used as an emergeny winch and can get you out of trouble. For general repair work I'd suggest a 2-ton trolley jack and axle stands. For just normal use then just about...
