Actually it is Diolen and is a fabric that I used in the front wings. The lay up is the same as Slalom conoe's ( E cloth and Diolen) which are made to bounce over rocks. I bashed the drivers side wing into a big tree, it bent the bumper back into the tire and bounced the car sideways. I was sure...

Well I made it to the Nationals at Copford farm. it was a good drag down there (190 miles) but we had a good weekend away. Saw old friends, talked Land Rovers and did the CCV. I didn't do any good in the CCV but that was to be expected after not trialing for 28 years and in a new motor. The...

Made it to the UK from Middle east - FINALLY.

I think you did well too bug out of that situation. I once had a similar situation. I crossed the Med into Ceuta, it was very late and once through customs I was approached by a couple of guys who were trying to sell me drugs and looking in the windows of my 109 safari. So like you I drove off...

Am I nuts? Could this be done??

What a great idea, I think also an A70 or an A40 pickup would look awsome as long as you take the time to lower the body to the correct height on the chassis and not just drop it on top and make some brackets.

It was 5 years of fun really. I have to find something else to do now, though I do have a 2A here that I am fitting a rear crossmember on, rebuilding the steering and removing the MK5 transit engine and fitting a 2 1/4 petrol back in. It's for an old guy who purchased it in the 60's. the thing...

    The search is over - 1976 Series 3 88"

That will make a smart S3 when it's done. Nowt wrong with welding your old chassis it will last many years if done properly. I used to refurb series Land Rovers at a place in Burton and we gave a 5 year guarantee on the chassis and never had one come back.
