I'd check your P gasket isn't leaking ;) Its behind the water pump and is the gasket that is between the waterpump housing and the engine block ;)

300tdi cambelt - some final tips please

You should always lock the flywheel first then lock the injection pump - if you find that you can't get the pin into the injection pump - loosen the 3 bolts on the pump pulley and turn the centre bolt slightly (22mm iirc) to line up the hole so that the pin is a sliding fit. NOT forgetting to...

Fuel filter stuck, filter head broken...

I would have stuck a screwdriver through the filter body and used it to turn it off the head - like you would an oil filter :)

    Usual story morning glory!!!

Bob - don't worry about that - concentrate on idetifying the corrrect thickness of gasket to use to replace the head - and it will all be fine mate ;) (just use an ELRING gasket!! They even come with bolt tightening sequence and torque figures and angles - :) )

    Usual story morning glory!!!

:D yep as JM states thats the oil feed to the head :D You need to check the gasket next to the first "mickey mouse" cutout for the identifing hole/holes - not a great pic but it does look like a "no hole" gasket which is the thickest you can get ;)

If you aren't sure - most people use a 3 hole gasket BUT you could measure the max piston crown protrudance above the block to do it properly ;)

    Usual story morning glory!!!

Nice 1 - cheap fix then Bob!! Make sure you use an ELRING gasket with the same amount of holes as your last one ;) Give the block a good clean too - sorted :)

    Usual story morning glory!!!

Give it a good clean with brake cleaner and fine wet/dry and check for cracks between valves and from glowplug and injector holes, did you undo the head bolts in sequence? If so you won't have damaged it when you removed it.
