This happened to me, the diode pack or regulator on the rear of the alternator is starting to fail. New (reconditioned) alternator from Auto stores in Malvern was £64 on an exchange basis. But you can replace just the regulator if the rest of the alternator is worth keeping.

that looks Ok, :)that's why you have the member gasket so that doesn't escape from hub bearing and the cap on the nose of the member. If the hub seal was damaged it wouldn't be leaking here, it would be leaking all across the back face oy your brake disc :eek: Jon
