    Britpart 110 rear springs

Thankyou very much. I counted nine coils on my lifted springs.

    Britpart 110 rear springs

Hi all, Does anyone know whether the Britpart lifted rear springs for Defender 110s have the same number of coils as their standard height equivalents? I believe I've got DA4206 (+40mm) on mine. I'd like to know whether DA4279 (standard height) have the same number of coils. Thanks in advance -...

Fuel tank - how to connect it up?

Here's the access panel. The fittings on the left are pass-throughs for the fuel level sensor. On the right are the fuel feed and return. I haven't fitted the reducers yet.

Fuel tank - how to connect it up?

A 15mm connector and a reducer make good sense. I'll go with that. Thankyou very much!

Fuel tank - how to connect it up?

So I can be sure I've understood - you're suggesting I use standard plumbing fittings, with an adaptor to interface plumbing fittings to LR fuel fittings? Sounds straightforward and sensible.

Fuel tank - how to connect it up?

I've made a big steel fuel tank. For various reasons, the pickup will be a rigid pipe running into the tank through a stainless steel access plate. How would you go about creating said pickup? It needs to pass through the plate without creating a leakage route, and on the outside of the tank it...

    Anyone got some old shocks?

Hi, sorry for the abrupt silence - was away for the weekend and then life took over. If you're able to post, that would be great - would Paypal be OK? Flat, a dual shock setup is good for situations where a single shock would be overworked. Done properly, it avoids the shocks overheating and...

    Anyone got some old shocks?

No, it's fine - happy to go with them as they are. Your help is much appreciated :-)

    Anyone got some old shocks?

They sound like what I'm after - for my own learning, are they the same as Disco / 90 shocks?

    Anyone got some old shocks?

Derby - would happily pay postage and packing though if you're not nearby.

    Anyone got some old shocks?

Am converting my suspension to allow me to run dual shocks on my back axle. I'll be running standard shocks with 2" lifted springs, so I need to reposition the mounts. Has anyone got a set of standard shocks - two fronts and two rears - that they no longer need? Completely worn out Britparts...

    Dual shock dropper turrets?

Hi neilly, I think the Terrafirma options are normal height or plus 2 - I can't find any minus 2s though.

    Dual shock dropper turrets?

Nothing listed on either Terrafirma or Britpart sites. Looks like my requirements may be an oddity. I might buy a set at standard height, cut two inches off them, and weld new laser-cut mounting flanges on. Shame to lose the benefit of galv in the process but nothing a good paint job won't fix.

    Dual shock dropper turrets?

I'm building an Africa-spec truck. I want to run twin standard shocks at each corner - standard so they can easily be sourced, and twin to avoid overheating them over punishing roads. The truck has a +2" lift. Is it possible to buy 2" dropper turrets for the front end, with dual mounts?

    Dual pin-pin rear shocks?

Behind the axle would make most sense for minimising the forces into the suspension links. Unfortunately, I've got a fuel tank slung transversely across the rear of the vehicle, and it blocks out the area on the chassis that a shock absorber would mount into.

    Dual pin-pin rear shocks?

Great - thankyou very much. I'm working up the dual rear mount as I write (OK, not literally)... will put some pictures up once I've got something to show.

    Dual pin-pin rear shocks?

I'm getting to the point with my project truck where I'm ready to think about rear suspension. For shock absorber life when heavily loaded / on bad roads, I'm minded to go for dual shocks - single shocks last about six months where this truck is going. For spares availability, it would be great...

    Soft mount steering guard

Hey, I'm about to make a steering guard for my project truck. I don't want it to be any heavier than it needs to be. In an impact with a rock, the force it will experience depends on how much inertia the system has. If it's rigidly mounted, the inertia is that of the whole vehicle. If it was on...

    Crank pulley torque

I know that's what it's intended for, but it's clearly working for Kev, which makes sense when you consider that the OD of the flywheel is probably three or four times the bolt circle diameter of the crank pulley locking bolts, and hence the force required to react the locking torque will be...

    Crank pulley torque

Oddball hybrid (the truck, not Flossie) Locking through the wading plug is interesting. Locking forces shouldn't be too crazy at that diameter.
