thanks James, to be clear plug the hole in the vac pump body? And any way of diagnosing if it is head gasket other than taking it off?

I am hoping perhaps it is head gasket. Can they blow to cause this issue? All well with water and oil, not mixing.

Have 200tdi which was reconned about 4 years ago. Has been fine and have noticed no drop off in performance. But a lot of oil coming through from the pipe which goes from Oil cyclone breather to air filter housing which the drips out. Have cleaned cyclone out and have changed for a new one...

Replaced both half shafts and new heavy duty driving members. 10 minutes a side. Nice easy job

Thanks for that, but still not entirely clear to me. I am concerned about the three water galley bolts. (Bottom right corner) Looks like 1x75mm, but what are the others? They are the ones which go right through

Ok can anyone please give me the definitive number and sizes of water pump bolts I need please, particularly the ones that go all the way through into the block. Better still a diagram of which goes where, and somewhere I can buy a set please!

Got in Landy today and the low/high gear stick is very loose and just moves easily forward and back without engaging. Feels like linkage has come loose? Any suggestions? Does anyone have an exploded view of the linkage please? Best down through the gear tunnel cover or from underneath to sort it?
