No definitely no slots underneath accept the main one! Ive tried jiggling it all angles and it won't come out!!!

No sadly no slot on this one! It’s a really early model! I think I’ll just leave it be. If I try and bend I’ll risk damaging the skin and I don’t want that as that sides in great shape! Ok thanks anyway for the reply :-))

Good to hear it’s not too complex job and hopefully I’m not doing too much damage driving it now and again. I have to say It will be so nice to hear the engine hum with out the rattle! Thanks for the encouragement!

Hi! Just to let you know we are all up and running again! I needed a new coil and points! Thank goodness I did not burn out the loom!!! For interest, I was able to see if the solenoids on the carb were operating by listening to them with an auto stethoscope. Really useful bit of kit! And...

Hi all, Wondering if anyone can spread some light on this condenser on my coil? See pic.... I cannot find reference to it in any of my manuals or parts manual? I’ve got a 2.25 90 with ducellier points. And a Weber carb which as solenoids powered from the coil feed.... Is it really necessary...

Happy Days!! The solenoids are working. Turned out to be a bad connection. Not out of the woods yet, I think there is a problem with the fried points I patched up. Got to wait for new points to arrive before I go any further...........

Yep! the solenoids on the carb. I’m now thinking about just removing them and connecting them straight to the battery and seeing if they move!?!
