Seeing as it had a headgasket issue and had used coolant etc, Theres a good chance the previous owner used k-seal or a similar additive to hide the symptoms which does cause blockages in the rad. Dont even bother flushing it just get it re cored or replaced (NOT BRITPART)

Have you checked the cambelt isnt broken? check cam is truning through oil filler cap. If it is turning check you have fuel pressure. The rear hpfp belt could have broken

Random question but have you checked the ecu plugs havent got oil in? Pull the ecu out and remove the plugs and see if full of oil. The oil travels up the wiring harness an causes issues i have seen it numerous times. Use electrical contact clearer oinly
