Thanks DiscoPol - it appears only the drag link ball is clunking but is it worth replacing both drag link and track rod or would you do them one at a time?

I know we've all been busy with getting used to the new look forum but has anyone got any ideas about drag links and track rods?

Evening all I've got a knocking noise coming from the front end of my Disco when I turn. Having looked at Rave and searched on Landyzone I think I've got the different parts identified properly but wanted to check first. Is the Drag Link the rod at the front that goes from the steering box...

You could check to make sure the rad isn't leaking - if you remove the fan cover and look at the back of the rad (might need to remove the fan to get a really good look) you may be able to see if there's any sign of a leak - it did on mine!

If they are not too far from you, you could do worse than call in to see South Coast in Eastborne, I've used them before and they know their stuff.

The expansion tank is just a wiggle and pull up to remove, do it steady so you don't break the pipe connections though.

I'd use an impact gun if I had one and it went tight enough but as James says you would need to check it was tightened properly afterwards - 450 Nm is FT. Using a BF breaker bar and a 1" drive socket did the job for me

Radiator fitted, a slight leak where I hadn't got one of the hoses fitted quite right but wiht a little fettle all seems OK now. Now just need to get it plugged in to clear the three amigoes.

Getting hacked off now: Radiator fubarred so can't drive it until I've replaced it. The small spigot pipe on the top nearside has snapped off - I've repaired it in the past but the repair has failed so it's time for a new radiator Any pointers on where to get one please?

Thanks, wasn't sure what to expect - when I replaced the offside hub the lights went out on their own - before coming back on a few miles later as the nearside hub gave up the ghost. Will have to drive six miles or so to the local indy dealer to get the lights reset so that should do the job...

I think the one nearest the front of the car is the PAS but you're better off checking - it's written on the side of the reservoir, I'd go out and have a look myself but it's cold and dark
