I done the front offside 2 weeks ago and found it pretty straight forward, maybe I was lucky !!! The 3 Amigos all went off the TC and HDC as soon as I plugged in the sensor, and the ABS after I drove about 100yds...

I've had a hub completely collapse and have no amigo's. Also had one with very slight movement with amigo's on. Its just your luck if you get them or don't, or if they go off, or don't. :confused:

Getting hacked off now: Radiator fubarred so can't drive it until I've replaced it. The small spigot pipe on the top nearside has snapped off - I've repaired it in the past but the repair has failed so it's time for a new radiator

Any pointers on where to get one please?
 
I've bought the new radiator and am part way through fitting it, play has stopped for the night as it was blimmin' cold. Hope it's not too cold tomorrow am

Radiator fitted, a slight leak where I hadn't got one of the hoses fitted quite right but wiht a little fettle all seems OK now.

Now just need to get it plugged in to clear the three amigoes.
 
All seems sorted now. A trip to my local LR indy to have the fault codes cleared, a quick trip around the block to make sure the ABS works and the lights stay off.

All looks good so far, no amigoes, fingers crossed it stays that way.

Thanks for all the advice.

Lessons learned:

  • Get the right hub nut socket socket and BF breaker bar from the outset
  • Heat everything up, squirt it with plus gas and give it a good thwack before you try and undo it
  • Make sure you've got new hub nuts and new disk screws (had to chisel the screws to get them undone)
  • Make sure you've got a 16 point socket for the caliper mounting bolts (19mm I think ?) - its better than using a ring spanner and a mallet
  • Don't do it when it's blimmin' freezing in January!

Any thing against using an impact gun to undo the nut if you have access to one and compressor and what about doing up with them? Only 1/2" or is that a no no? I may need to do mine.

nothing at all its what i use ,just check they are fully tight with a bar after
 
I'd use an impact gun if I had one and it went tight enough but as James says you would need to check it was tightened properly afterwards - 450 Nm is FT. Using a BF breaker bar and a 1" drive socket did the job for me

Windy gun to take off should be fine, putting on you ought to set the correct torque.
