Thanks for that info. I have always been puzzled as the hood has a storage bag which it would never fit into on it's frame.

Does anyone know how to remove the canvas hood from it's frame? The zip has gone on one side of my hood, I have found a company that can repair it, but, they need the canvas removed from the frame to do it. Can this be done DIY or is it a case of let the pro's at Land Rover do it and...

Erm, very true. ;) I was just thinking everyone has Vaseline at home for some purpose and it's only purpose is to lubricate making it great in tight situations. :bounce:

On the gutter things that slide under the body coat them with Vaseline, works a trick.

Yes it takes a bit of practice, especially closing it in the right order.

I just left the roof bars on and find it easy to open and close the soft top.

Nice looking machine. See you have the same problem as I, no covers for the rear bar mounts.

Good thought; it's a silicon based grease that is on them at present and if the drums heat up that much, surely I have another problem such as binding brake? I do not wish to paint them as they look fantastic in polished steel, almost alloy in colour.

I have purchased two brand new polished steel rear brake drums for my Freelander which are covered in a rather nice greasy coating and look great. At £11 each I am impressed. The question is should I de-grease them and give them a cover of clear lacquer and then re-grease them before...

Basically we have decided to put it down to "a learning experience" and bury it. However an extremely polite letter is about to be sent of to Land Rover in Coventry. If any response is received I will let you all know. Thanks for all your help and support.
