    Service History - Importance?

I've had it suggested that I'm being a bit fussy in my hunt for a 90, and amongst other things it's taking a fair bit of getting used to that when looking at Landy's you're not always going to see a book of service stamps of any sort - "I've had it ten years and done it all myself". How much...

I'm also on the lookout (Midlands area) if anyone knows of anyone with anything decent.

    Liveridge 4x4

I think Liveridge are out the frame anyway mainly due to price and I don't think their target market is the "I want that bog standard unmolested one please" people i.e. me! The hunt continues and it's ****ing depressing how little is out there unless you live in Wiltshire or Perthshire!

    Worth looking at?

Went to have a look today. Don't claim to be a mechanical expert but it started/drove soundly enough, chassis looked alright but again I don't claim to be applying any more than common sense - ultimately it was a bit more of a nail with the bodywork and interior than I'm looking for so the hunt...

    Worth looking at?

Bit chavvy IMO - I want something unmolested without chequer plate and lifts and stuff (no offence to anyone just each to their own). I think I'll go take a look and if it seems sound suggest he gets it MOT'd and if it passed I'm not sure I can haggle/quibble too much - I'd prefer something I...

    Worth looking at?

Still on the hunt for a 90, found another one on a slightly obscure farmers ads site (not Farming Ads) that someone suggested, advertised at £3.5k + VAT Described as: M reg 92 k Just serviced - all oils changed, new heater plugs, air filter etc.. 300 TDi engine New front bumper...

    Why so cheap?

It'll be gone before I'd have chance to even go look, so perhaps it was more of a general question as, until now, I'd only really considered the 200/300 tdi engined models - but I admit that I have no real idea why I'd ruled out the earlier vehicles.

    Why so cheap?

Cheap compared to what most 90's seem to be going for on the mainstream sites unless you're bloody lucky and "know someone who has one for sale".

    Why so cheap?

Humour me eBay Truck Cab Obviously photos can hide a thousand issues but on the face of it this look OK - as a novice looking for something as a "bit of fun" that will get to/from the tip, around town, plus 20 miles each way to/from work when the mood/weather suits, what would I gain from...

    dellusional or plausible?

Take your time. I've been looking for a couple of months and whilst I'm impatient I'm not going to rush into buying something just because it's either cheap or available. Because I started looking when we had a little snow I assumed the high prices were due to that, but I think it's just where...

Still looking - Silkstone have a very nice looking 1999 hard top with side windows but it just feels a bit much for what it is possibly, not sure. As ever if anyone knows of anyone selling anything please let me know (the "Wanted" section here seems to get very few views).

Looking for a Defender - How many miles is too many?

Yes I'm very conscious of buying something "cheap" now and then spending a lot on cosmetic bits and bobs let alone mechanical things hence half-tempted to get something newer that shouldn't need a lot more than servicing.

Looking for a Defender - How many miles is too many?

Cheers guys - sounds like it's not going to be worth the trip. As to why the ad had the wrong mileage, the chap sounds genuine enough in his email so I suspect it's just an error or shrewd advertising to get people looking, he said straight away though what it really way. I'll keep looking...

Looking for a Defender - How many miles is too many?

Still looking, saw something that looks/sounds genuine (vs. pig in lipstick part-time trader ste) but then after an email asking some basics: Sorry to say, but the advert is very misleading as the mileage is 238,000 I know this seams huge but she has been well looked after Just had a...

Midlands Specialists? (Newbie looking to buy a Defender)

Maybe wishful thinking on the owners front, but I'd have thought £7k should get something pretty decent around 1995-1996 or am I being totally naive?

Midlands Specialists? (Newbie looking to buy a Defender)

OK let's say my postcode is "B79 7PD" - be interested which the folks on here think look like good genuine 90's that aren't too far away as, and admittedly I'm still learning, most of them just look like junk - yes I'm fickle but I don't see many 1 or 2 owner original ones.
