L322 Leaking rear shock 2010 RR

New bilstein shock fitted today, took about 20 minutes and £258, happy days though, the old girl is wafting along like she previously did

    No it’s the N/S/R

L322 Leaking rear shock 2010 RR

Yeah it’s leaking pretty bad, a good 4” patch of oil after a few hours, Island 4x4 the cheapest so will be ordering one. I know a pair is recommended but I’ve never followed that reasoning.

L322 Leaking rear shock 2010 RR

Shock is leaking, and pretty badly, can’t brlieve it has any fluid left but still it keeps coming, Made the mistake once and only once of playing underneath a rangie without stands, figured air on off-road setting, loads of room, happy days, until a bag pops, not sure linford Christie could of...

L322 Leaking rear shock 2010 RR

So here’s a thought, my car is thumping on the rear due to the shocker being knackered, presumably it has the electronic suspension control yet it hasn’t thrown a code or a warning

L322 Leaking rear shock 2010 RR

I would of thought that, might be a heavy car compared to most but you would think the spec would be more heavy duty to cope with the extra weight

L322 Leaking rear shock 2010 RR

It’s a very heavy car but would think the parts were designed with that in mind, I think 90-100k would be acceptable, would be bad if this was the second replacement though, i’ll check the history folder and see if there is mention of one being replaced in the past

L322 Leaking rear shock 2010 RR

Yes I wondered that, mine has the bilstein logo on it but would hope it’s not been replaced already within 100,000 miles

Not sure how I missed that because I’d been on there website and got a price nearer £400, The Bilstein looks good value as well.

L322 Leaking rear shock 2010 RR

Genuine LR is around £500, bilstien do one cheaper but still loads considering it’s likely to be a 20p O ring that’s leaking, I’m sure I’ve read somewhere that these type of shocks can be rebuild

so I noticed a patch of oil on the drive, smells like gear oil but clear, Turns out the little canister on the side of the shock is leaking, Any idea if it repairable or better to replace? The cost is painful, hoping maybe to find a good used unit

    L322 Aux heater issue

So the battery didn’t help my pre heater issue. Took the heater out today and checked the glowplug, works fine, contemplating getting hold of a used unit and seeing if that works.

    L322 Aux heater issue

Ok so the prize goes to Datatek, Well at least for suggesting the battery may be weak, not sure if it will solve the issue yet as not had time to replace it but only showing 12V when I get in the car, drops to 11.4 if I sit and have the ignition on, supposed the car actually turns over well at...

    L322 Aux heater issue

I’m sure I tried that with my touch screen but didnt work, maybe I did it after messing with something else, I’ll give it another go, I will check the battery voltage, I know from my previous L322’s how critical that can be. I’m thinking (obviously not if it’s battery related) to get a used...

    L322 Aux heater issue

I did think maybe a battery issue but I get none of the symptoms my td6 used to have with low voltage, the thing that made me think it might be is if I’m sat with the ignition on and radio playing, after a few minutes the radio will shut off and I get a message saying this is due to low power...

    L322 Aux heater issue

Can you buy a device kit then? Is Tim back at Spencer’s then? He was at Offenham after Andy sold the business

    L322 Aux heater issue

So please don’t shout at me, I know the topic has been covered lots but am unable to answer my specific issue. The aux heater doesn’t seem to work, certainly doesn’t heat up the cabin although the blower sometimes stays on. It’s showing a glowplug fault, But oddly, after driving around 3 miles...
