    wiring up roof lights..

Relay is connected to battery with thick wire. Its a 30amp relay. Then off the relay with thickish wire and then it goes to a piggyback spade connector where 2 separate wires go off to the spots. So in theory the wires to the spots only need to be half of the total amperage (12amp ish). I don't...

    wiring up roof lights..

Sorry for the hijack but I have fitted a set of spots to my Disco. I could only get 130w bulbs for them. So I have 2 x 130w 12v bulbs which from my calculations (Amps = Watts / Volts) is 21.6amps. I have it on a 25 amp fuse. I guess I need to re-wire the lamps as I don't think the wire is thick...

    Suspension flat

Juliap called in the other morning and I took a quick look and the plough on the back is about 15-20cm from the floor. So its squatting down quite a bit. We tried to get it to raise the back end with the aid of the button. But nothing. Then when she turned off the disco I could hear a very...

    Disco will not move

You don't quite understand LR owners yet. You will. I must say its too far for me to go, tonight.

    Disco will not move

Brakes are easy, even mechanics can be trained on how to do them. I find that the last thing you touched is often the cause/catalyst for the next problem. If one of the monkeys failed to tighten up a bolt correctly, or even put the pads in then you might get an issue.

Did you take the calliper off to be doubly sure? Don't know why but you have try every thing. Have you tried putting the low/high ratio box into Neutral?

Well take the wheel off and look at the pads. It might be something to do with that.

    Suspension flat

I measured mine at the centre of the wheel arch from the kerb. Standing it was 70cm then turned the engine on and this time it didn't raise. But after a press of the lift arse button it went up to 74.5cm. So a difference of 4.5cm at the centre of the wheel arch.

Go out and do your mesurements now. Sat on the flat = With egine running and doors closed = Pressing the raise the arse button = But you decide where to measure. I have biggish tyres on the truck. It might just be worth noting the difference between them. Im off out to brave the cold.

Oh No ! Air Suspension Again !

Keep the air suspension. It does allow you to put some good weight on a trailer or even in the back of the truck and thanks to the air bags it handles quite fine. They do go wrong, but don't forget Discoverys have a long list of other niggles.

    I Fitted My Spot Lights

I also like the look as standard. But I wanted the extra lights. I drive quite a bit at night and its nice to be able to see. Also in a area full of LR owners I wanted mine to be a little different so my mates can spot me a bit easier. I originally wanted the LR Soft A bar but they are silly...

    I Fitted My Spot Lights

I was going to write another HowTo but changed my mind as I know the electrical types will get all in a tis about my wiring skills. I went to the shop to find some 100w H3 bulbs but they had none in stock so I have 130w instead. The lights are the biggest I could find in a local shop (I like...

    Belt noise

I assume you have powersteering fluid in there and the steering box is all bled etc. It can also be caused by a knackered pully. Has the tentioner ever been replaced. When you take the belt off make sure everything moves freely.
