Hi All,
Landy engine(2.4tdci Puma 160k) was making more noise than usual and on checking, front injector clamp was rattling. Bolt seems to have worked itself loose/stretched. Ordered some new ones(x2) and on fitting first one, it snapped half way down thread before I was able to torque up, Noooooo.
How the chuff do I get the broken bit of the bolt out as bolt quite thin and its a good way down the hole.
Thanks in advance

Looks like you will need to drill it and use a screw extractor , as you haven’t torqued it up, this will help but surprised you’ve snapped it , did you buy genuine or cheapie version
At least you chose an appropriate username 😉

Thanks for reply and advice, yes Jonah is very apt, especially while working on the Landy. Even simple jobs seem to require additional work, replacing injector clamp bolts being an example. Genuine bolts, but think it was torque wrench just deciding to be a straight forward socket wrench, without the clicks! Only set it to 5nm and not 8nm just in case.
Ordered punch and set of left threaded drill bits, screw/bolt extractors and fingers crossed I can remove snapped bolt. Will update on progress once rain and wind subside. Thanks again.

Haha yes landies like that ,one job turns into three! Was going to mention use of a cylindrical guide , so drill fits snugly down hole and keeps drill central, wonder if there was a fault in the stud caused a weakness to make it shear easier.
The end will likely be uneven and tend to make the drill divert from centre so take care don’t want to snap the drill in there too , so nice and gentle let the drill do the work,
Put some release agent down hole while waiting for bits to come
And make sure no debris or oil in holes before you put new studs in
Gud luk
