Only thing is it's been a year without noise & the sound gets worse when I turn the wheel. I've still not got an engine stethoscope. Annoyed that the noise started out of nowhere.
Right, radiator & pulleys changed and the noise is still there. It had a fanbelt snap on it last year and I pulled as much of the belt off as I could. Could residual belt be causing the noise?
Anyone know a decent OE brand? Changed my old exhaust mounts (which still looked fine) but I thought "better safe than sorry" so put new ones on. Wish I hadn't as I've just looked and they're all torn under a year's use.
From what I could hear from the front grille it was from the middle of the engine. I've ordered a pulley & tensioner wheel along with a radiator. What was the torque value for the bolts, 25NM?
Pump comes off easily enough but that's jumping the gun IMO. You need to prove the pump is the source of the noise first, a mechanics stethoscope would help. If it is the pump that's noisy, try an oil change first.
I think I can just post this link. Don't know why I didn't just post it here anyway. Idiot!

Pretty sure that's the riddle...
Spot on! I'll get onto that. I'll do it when the radiator is being changed. It shouldn't be the pump as I've just replaced that. Likely the idler & tensioner pulley. Thanks lads!
Is it safe to drive or will I get done for noise pollution?
Could be. I've got video of it but can't upload it. Just don't know why it's worse when turning the wheel.
It's had two new belts and the bearings sounded okay last time I checked. Wonder if they've just gone...
Just been listening to it while engine running. It's like a fast rattling noise from the front of the engine. It starts and after a while cuts off and then a starts again a few seconds later. It's definitely worse when I turn the wheels for some...
Actually looking at the picture I think there was slightly more room for adjustment. Think it was the high pressure lines stopping it's rotation any futher.
Steering fluid reservoirs good. So no need for any fluid. Still drips of diesel tracing from around the rear of the pump. I'll check that out Tomorrow.
