If the top down to the head gasket is free of oil leaks, timing case is free of oil leaks then it's only really oil filter housing, engine cooler pipes, lift pump and vacuum pump to look at.
Stick the breather pipe onto the inner wheel arch out...
it should mist into the air filter for burning back through the engine. Now if you have loads in the bottle after a few days that’s where your problem is.
The pipe should mist/breath from sump to crankcase so should not dump loads of oil...
Meaning leave a bottle on it with some tape / ties?
I’ve cleaned the top of the engine 3/4 weeks ago and it hasn’t gotten any dirtier.
I’ll give the underside a spray with some cleaner and give it a jet wash at the local garage. 👌🏻
Had a roll around on my back to see where most of the oil was coming from on the driveway. Seems to be coming from most areas.
Anywhere you’d be starting first or just usual defender life?
Checked all fluids, looking good
New battery - now have full beam working again
Replaced a bunch of rivnuts that the previous owner had installed poorly
Rewired in a very simple Bluetooth amp to a couple of 10 inch speakers in the front to...
I’m still learning about the Defender 90 as I go.
Was hoping someone could help me understand what the two “holes” are on the photos attached.
These are captured from a video I took underneath when I was looking for something else.

I’ve been gifted a 1m roof light bar but without any brackets.
Does anyone have examples of how the same type of light bars have been fitted, conscious that it’s not the full roof width.
✌🏻
I’ve noticed today that in 5th gear at higher speed (55/60) and when I take my foot off the accelerator, it feels like I have more “resistance” (for want of a better word).
I can feel it through the accelerator pedal and generally in the cabin...
Britpart roof rails and Vickywood awning all go today. The Vickywood stuff is seriously great quality I have to say. Going to get a 190 mighty oak roof tent for the summer for some camping fun with the little one.
Next thing is to get another...
I have 2 brand new side steps that I bought from LR Parts but have decided I don’t need.
STC7631 - Folding Side Step for Defender - Genuine Style Fold-Down Side Steps for LandRover Defender - Can be Fitted to Front or Rear Side Doors

If it turns out to be the UJs don't buy cheap ones. I hate doing them with a passion, got a propshaft instead last time.
Another thing to check if you think it's from the transfer box is the output flange and bearing the prop bolts onto.
The videos linked above - trailerfitter toolbox, will be so helpful for you. Loads of guides but there’s theory in them too from an old school fitter. Also look up the mike Brittania vids.
The first one I received that didn’t work was an aftermarket speedo cable from LR parts
The one I have just received which worked was from Wick 4X4 on eBay. I wouldn’t normally get something from eBay but trusted the photo where I could see how...
UPDATE: I ordered another cable. Same part number but the version which came had a black plastic end rather than white at the clock end.
This one’s connector was much further out (like the photo above) and connected sweetly and I now have a...
You’ll know when you find it. If your not experienced YouTube these points as you’ll soon find someone like mike or tasmania rovers has it covered. You want to look for play in your UJs, excess slack in prop. FYI UJs are a consumable and they...
Hi Guys,
I've experienced this only in the past few days, and other than describing it as a 'clunk' I don't know what to look for.
I appear to be getting a clunk every now and again, fairly violent, from what sounds like the transfer box.
This...
