Yes the filters do get clogged up. A tired pump usually impacts drivability as well as starting. But you said you replaced it, so it should be ok.
When parked uphill, turn the ignition on without starting until the glow plug light goes out...
FYI, I stopped commenting about fuel once you made that clear. My other posts were about the energy required to keep the car moving.
In principle agreeing with your theory about less engine wear, but the oil pressure question at lower RPM...
Having gone through similar recently, I suspect we have the same issue with injectors. In my case the low temp was solved with a new thermostat - PITA but done.
Our 2004 FL1 was smokey all the time, so did all the following:
Checked & cleaned...
Can't remember if you said you have a Nanocom or not ? If you do, then it should be easy do get the GEMS how you need it, before building the other vehicle.
The AS10 is the alarm & fob decoder, etc for car that use it. It has to do the same job as the BECM does with GEMS. Looking at the Nanocom guide for it, it appears to have better accessibility to the features including the GEMS Immob code...
Remember they tend to leak under the folds, so do the soapy water check at various heights.
For the schrader valves, although I don't use them much, I did when rebuilding my engine a while back just raise & lower the car manually. One thing I...

The Nanocom has the Lucas AS10 option for cars that use it, which appears to show the code, but it would need someone with an AS10 &...
More likely the opposite airbag lifted a bit with whatever air was left in it. There's no crosslink valves on a P38. All four airlines go directly to the valve block. There's a known issue caused by leaking exhaust that melts the rear...
Sounds like the ECU is forgetting what height you last set it to. With the height lock switch on, it should remain at the last height after switch off & when switching on & starting.
Does it have the standard timer relay or the 4-pin fudge to...
Time we opened a book on this.
My odds on anyone on LZ knowing the answer to this exact question.....
1000 to 1.
I reckon 157,213 to 1 assuming only one member knows the answer, and the OP will know one day.
Or should that be 157,214 to 2 ❓
Yes we like comment from each other even it's not all correct, but it does lead us to try different things. Topics frequently go off-topic but we simply accept it.
As you noticed this forum contains much banter, scarcasm & information (some...
