    Drive Before I Decide?

Good 110's tend to be £15,000+ That 2005 90XS looks like a great price if the chassis is good, definitely worth a visit to view it. Again, that's the best specification and the best year (after they fitted the better doors but before the big road tax increase after March 2006) Prices have...

What about that blue one on Ebay. lt's an earlier one (but it's got the updated dash which was introduced in 2002) and not the XS so no ABS/aircon etc. ln fact it's the basic SW with vinyl seats and no central locking or electric windows. Although that can be a good thing...less to go wrong.

Why not try a "wanted" advert on here, and the other popular Land Rover forum is worth putting a "wanted" message on as well.

Sadly yes having looked at those pictures the chassis doesn't look good particularly at the rear.

    Drive Before I Decide?

lt's cheap for a late 110XS Station Wagon, and looks basically okay. lt will probably need a rear crossmember in the not too distant future and it definitely needs rustproofing underneath. I would also expect to replace the mid crossmember. Good news is, being a late 54 plate it's got the one...

Chassis replace or welding? Not sure how much needs to be done

Looks like the O/P has come, and gone. l hope he finds the Land Rover that he wants.

Note Cruise control won't work with the O/D you need to fit a speedo healer.

Chassis replace or welding? Not sure how much needs to be done

US$26,000 is probably about right for that Land Rover, when you look at the price good ones go for in the USA. l've seen them at $60,000. But as above, maybe if you could import one yourself. Good Series 3's in the U.K. are in the region UK£15-20,000 I don't know what if any import taxes etc...

Yes standard TD5 transmission. You can fit an overdrive which adds a sixth gear, but it costs over £2,000 Alternatively you can fit a Discovery transfer box but that raises the gearing in every gear which means higher intermediate gears. At 60 mph with the standard transmission it's okay on...

    Drive Before I Decide?

A good Puma Defender is okay to drive on road, it will happily sit at motorway speeds and in relative calm. They can also be further improved by adding extra sound proofing and cruise control, better audio system etc if that's what you want to do with it. You have to drive the vehicle for what...

    Drive Before I Decide?

Just decide on the specification you want (Station Wagon, Hard Top, Truck Cab) and then whether you want aircon/electric windows etc, Fix a budget, and leave aside around £2,000 for initial jobs and other things you'll decide you want to do to it. Then buy the first one you find that matches...

Problem with the 300tdi is finding a good one! The youngest are 28 years old and will likely need a chassis at the least if it's not already had one.
