Busy day! today I finished off my bush changing, got the second radius arm back on and then did the panhard rod. Then after putting stuff back together I welded up a DIY brake shoe spreader and changed both my rear wheel cylinders. Only one...
Hello mate. Got my front doors from SP. All fine there, perfect fit and came with locks and slam thingy. Didn’t get the galv ones. Decides to go down the route of paint and then sprayed the internals with dinitrol. Got my rear door from paintman...
I have done that with everything I have done to the 110. It has been my daily drive since I was 18, and having converted it to a station wagon for the growing family I intend to keep it as my daily drive for a long time yet. Therefore I do not...
I live work by the sea and can say that while good in most cases galvanised stuff will last a lot longer but it is not the be all and end all that many think it is. This is very much the case when you have a different metal in contact with the...
I got a galvaised steel rear door some years ago ,,, heres a pic of it after about 3 years on the car ...
I was quite dissapointed that it rusted on those joints
@SimonBrown
Look at the Glynn Lewis site he has the ones you can grease.
But your shopping list will grow when you start looking at his kit.
Nice mod is the drop arm which takes a track rod, quicker to change
The A frame ball joint has been removed. 3 of the 4 bolts played nicely but one decided to round off on account of rust and just because it could.
The trick of hammering a 1/2" AF socket on - as much as I dislike tool abuse - did the trick and...
Slitting wheels finally turned up and were put to use on the radius arm bolt that refused to cooperate.
First, melt the bush:
Then the slitting wheel and reciprocating saw can get in and chew through the spacer and bolt that simply refused to...
With a delivery of parts attention has been turned to the front and rear brake calipers.
Both sets were relatively recent replacements but no idea when they were replaced or how long they have stood so it was strip down and clean up.
The...
Thought I would get some window fitting underway tonight. I had bought some new seals and infills for the alpine windows so might as well get them fitted! I cleaned the windows to get rid of any dirt and grime then I pushed the new seal into the...
Thank you for the kind words, I’m so pleased as to how she’s turned out the colour, stance and retro looks just complements the landys age. Can’t wait to post the next set of photos after fitting the cool n’ vintage chestnut seats and canvass hood !
Went about fixing that rear wheel bearing.
Of course the caliper bolts where rusted away...
Open it up to the single nut system...
Go to my wheel bearing box, can I find my two nut conversion? Of course not.
Of to work where they should be...
It's the opposite for me, stopped to offer help to a young man with a young lady in a little sports car and he declined and looked very flustered. Also stopped to help out a couple of dibble during the storms, offered to tow a tree off the road...
Just an update, got bearing, luckily place we are camping the chap that runs it likes tinkering and had a decent workshop. So we stripped it down, even got caliper bolts out with a wing and prayer, inner bearing was shot to pieces. Took a while...
If it is dry then adjusting it up is not going to help matters, change it whilst you can as you just know it is going to **** the bed at the most dangerous moment.
Welcome to the forum, excellent story.
Doubt you will need lsd and winch unless you are properly going off road, unless it's a work related reason.
Have fun.
Welcome :).

Hello all,
Just moved to the Kintyre peninsula in west Scotland with my family - where we are living two miles into a 10 mile forestry track full of deep potholes and sharp stones.
Something I must have said has at some point turned 15 year old...
Well, @ER1C , your post worked…
Got the chainsaw out today for a small job in the garden. Started it. Stopped it.
Went back in and got some safety goggles on 😎
Looks like some money has been spent resurfacing some areas of the track. Also some posts/fences erected along with some wooden barriers and strategical placed rocks to try and keep people on track. Of course certain idiots will soon be ignoring...
Chieveley was as far West I went today. I have a fair few small scratches on my arms from Holly cutting. Got a thank you from a horse rider and mountain bike rider, which is always nice. It is a good little lane but was getting a bit fed up I...
