Morning All. :D
Cool out there on the paper run. :)
Just made my first Coffee. :)
Ginger-Whinger cat is pestering for more food. :)
Have a lovely day. :D
Well that's it, yessdi's theatre trip was the last of the season. As usual before the performance we had lunch in Cote brasserie. We are regulars there.
We pushed the boat out knowing it was the last one, and didn't limit ourselves to what we ate...
If it goes away at about 1000 revs that should be OK. do you have a dynamo and a regulator?
Wow, if so, real rave from the grave. 🤣
My first two Minis did.
It could just be alternator or dynamo brush (es).
Last time I worked on such a system...
Hello all.
Local Indy confirms box needs changing. The one going in will be a rebuilt one that has done 50k miles. But he is so rammed he cannot do it before the 15th of April, so W threw a fit, especially as he doesn't want me heading straight...
Yes, we have a longish flexi from the end of the fixed piping from the tank to the inlet of the pump. I will find a place to insert a filter..... in due course. Now the smell of petrol is resolved I am looking to install a thermostat as the...
You're probably right
Early cars were 4.5 gallons then the tank was made bigger for the 1275 GT mid seventies, I think all Minis got bigger tank a few years later :)
Re the Facet, we discussed this a bit when you were having the fuel pump woes. I was thinking more of a flexi behind the engine just before the pump.
You can always cut the metal pipe to put a flexi in, jubilee clips will hold it just fine. If...
It seems to me that the solution to Dan's dilemma is to find a period correct SU electric pump. The low pressure ones are designed to work with carburettors that have a float and needle valve, unlike many of the modern pumps that are intended to...
Tank outlet in the boot and then should be a metal pipe running along under the car.
Electric pump fine but watch pressure as it can overcome the float valve and flood.
This is true, but I think the outlet of the tank might be under the boot floor and I am not sure such a delicate part ought to be so exposed. But I will look to see if there is anywhere suitable. I am told others remove the mechanical pump and...
Morning All. :D
VERY Bright and Sunny here. :)
Herself is still akip, and as she has had several poor nights I shall not wake her. :)
Have a lovely day! :D
Thort cars like that had a water separator in the fool filter. Do appreciate that if someone put a gallon or two in it wouldn't save it.
Had they had a falling out with someone?
Can you not put one in the pipe coming from the tank to the pump? If there is a bit of flexible then you could just cut it and stick one in, no need to mount it on anything. (Don't forget to check the arrow for correct flow, easily missed.) SUs...
