    P38A Door handles

All sorted, pretty easy TBH, the plastic latch piece on both had got gunked up with old grease, dirt and rust, a few squirts of brake cleaner and nice new lube. I didn't even need to remove the latches, both smooth as silk now and close and open easy peasy :) Cheers all, now onto the MAF...

    P38A [P38] Rubbing strip grommet?

The lower one has a screw in the door the upper is held with the pin and sac cup. I am not sure if there is a screw in the front of the door, mine is just clip on with the above fittings. I have some in my spares boxes just in case :)

    P38A MAF woes

Many thanks, lotsa info to get on with there, the engine was idling on the old MAF for all screen shots, odd about the airflow bit, I did wonder but I am not au fait with using engine diagnostics so I wouldn't fully know what I am looking at!

    P38A MAF woes

Thanks Pete, My MAF only has 3 pins, it is a GEMS and not Bosch/Motronic. When I put the new MAF in (either one) I cannot physically drive the car because it won't rev no matter how hard I press the pedal. The readings do change when revving on the old MAF, I can't keep the engine running for...

    P38A MAF woes

If any one can interpret these, they are readings on the old MAF after clearing the fault and doing an adaptive reset

    P38A MAF woes

Thanks Pete, I have done the reset adaptive values with the Nano but both of the new MAFs still overfuel and I cannot get a tickover let alone any revs, as soon as I unplug either of them the engine then goes to idle and runs and revs etc. If I plug back in it remains that way until I do a...

    P38A MAF woes

Mines a 4.6 HSE Petrol, where do I check the MAP? When I replaced the MAF 11 years or so ago I just fitted it, plugged it in and all was ok, this time not so. The MAF shows up when doing the fault check so I would assume again that the thing is connected because I can clear the fault and when...

    P38A MAF woes

Hi Keith, I would have thought that if it was the connector or connections that it would make no difference with it plugged or unplugged. If I start the car with either of the new MAFs the thing overfuels and I cannot get it to rev, if I pull the plug it then runs and if I plug the thing back in...

    P38A MAF woes

Since I put the original MAF in the engine is doing what it is supposed to so I am assuming the other bits are doing what they should, I will run a check though. I would like to put one of the new ones on though because I don't trust the old one seeing as it threw a fault previously. I just...

    P38A MAF woes

Right, I have checked the old MAF with the Nanocom and it came up with fault 102 circuit low input. I cleared it and restarted but the fault returned. I have 2 brand new MAFs so I installed the first and tried starting, the thing just threw out black smoke and wouldn't rev above 200RPM and...

    P38A Door handles

Hi Pete, Many thanks for that, I have done a couple of my latches (rear) in the past and I wish I had seen this video before! All the latches do what they are supposed to and the internal handles open the door easily, they just dont latch when you shut the door apart from the passenger side...

    P38A Door handles

Just a small issue, I just had my MOT (passed nicely again) but I had an advisory regarding the front door handles (LH & RH) If you open the doors from the outside the doors close properly, however, if you open from the inside you have to flick outer handle to get the door to latch. Both...

    P38A Eas unlock wont initialize

Have you tried changing Comm ports? From memory I think EAS Unlock defaults to Comm 1 (Keith will know) I have to use Comm 4
