P38A Looking for p38 parts in Kent area

James Coleman is in Essex and has everything and is a trusted used parts seller, and has good knowledge with the P38, he is on the P38 facebook site https://www.facebook.com/groups/314522172231316/

P38A Rear washer jet pipe 'lost' !

Take the plastic filter and wiper motor cover off, only a few screws and it should be there, probably clean or change the foam filter at the same time.

    P38A Steering squeal

No metal just brown shellac from years of use, the filter was a bit gooey too. All nice and clean now

    P38A Steering squeal

I have flushed it before hoping to end the noise but no joy so definitely the Lucas stuff, I have tried other fluids also but the noise stayed.

    P38A Steering squeal

I flushed the whole system, loads of crap came out! Since putting in the Lucas stuff no more noises and yes, steering is easier so a win. Makes such a psychological difference to not have the steering moan at you when turning left! Just have to get rid of the moans from the passenger seat ;) :)

    P38A Opinion on Height Sensors

That's precisely why I had to re-work one of mine, it kept throwing a fault, with it "fixed" it lasted for a month or so until I got the Dunlops.

    P38A Opinion on Height Sensors

I fitted a couple of Chinesiums to mine but they faulted fairly quickly, the only reason I bought them was that at the time the Dunlops were out of stock. One of the cheap ones I had to re-work as the spindle boss was as loose as anything. I finally managed to get Dunlops and they are working...

No, the real queen (QE2), I thought Lizzy 2 didn't want Camilla to be an actual Queen?

    P38A Steering squeal

Another update, after a couple of weeks using the Lucas stuff the many years of the steering moaning at me has now ceased, what a result. It is so quiet now I am getting nervous!! The steering even feels better :)

    P38A Height Sensor replacement

Maybe I am misreading this but that seems a tad expensive for a DMM, £25 buys a reasonable one, £100 buys bells and whistles

    P38A Bulb Failure message preconditions?

I was going to ask the same question, they have to be canbus or have the appropriate resistor

    P38A Height Sensor replacement

Bob, or maybe dave.......... You can't own a P38 without a DMM (or a Dalek come to that..) I run a village hall and a dalek would be a great place for a camera to watch over the parties especially if the top was powered (and the exterminator laser)

    P38A Height Sensor replacement

I have a long tester unit and I went directly from the ECU to each sensor which told me there was no continuity on the RH rear which was all well and good but it didn't obviously tell me where the problem was. After tons of wire wiggling I pinpointed the break and all was well with the world...
