The only thing I have changed are the lights - all around and a new switch that came with the lights. The old switch was for a trailer also (indicator would flash and the trailer light would come on)...thought it might be related....might swop over again.

My defender has done 67000. It seems a common problem but it’s different wiring issues. Some scary comments on here! I am driving still. A runaway does not need the ignition and it’s not about the electrics but other problems.....also rare! It’s easy to scare.

Hi Let me know what he says....I had mine in and the garage changed the ignition switch. Did it again today! I’m going back anyway as I’m having a problem with the drive belt. So will be asking them to check wiring - someone informed me to check the break wiring.

Not a runaway either - this is an electrical fault. I have seen loads of people with a similar issue.....runaways are rare.
