I never thought of them. They can be expensive though, but their stuff is usually spot on.

Isn't that about right if the engine is hot? You need to test the coolant temp with one of them hand held temperature gun thingies. If all OK then all you need to do is keep that temp position as normal running temp. My son's 200tdi did exactly...

Good idea tying them down. Mine moved so much on the journey home that I thought they’d exit through the back door!

What do you mean the rear propshaft has some slack but how much is too much? Take it off and drive without it and see what happens.

Yes It was sold to the military for some purpose. Being blue I wonder if it was a run around for Navy or RAF rather than the Army.

You need to match calipers ,discs and pads. There is a thin set of pads and a fatter set of pads. If 110 rear brakes have been fitted as an 'upgrade'. I imagine pictures of pads etc might help

If its a faulty electric item then it may be wise to find out what it is. Have you checked the bbus behind the passenger headlight.

I have never really tried it to be honest. The gearbox isn't happy if I try to change quickly into 2nd when it's cold, you need to make a steady gear change. If that makes sense . I use atf oil in the gearbox.

I set off in 1st gear and straight away I change into 2nd gear. I don't know what speed it is, barely much faster than walking speed. Basically I have found 1st gear is only for setting off after coming to a stand still

You can buy textured paint in a spray can to replicate plastic parts. You could try heating them up gently with a heat gun. Or a good quality plastic reviving gel.

Britpart 200tdi radiator will fit and has been fine on ours. You will need to reuse the original adapters where the oil cooler pipes attach to the rad, most likely.

That is actually a good idea, even better if we had some wheel nuts for steel wheels. Besides sod's law dictates 5 miles down the road we would get a puncture on the way to collect them.
