I think I'd be safe in saying, 99% of people on here, want to mod their hippo... but not all of these mods are possible due to time/funds.

My pipe-dreams are:

tri-turbo, from three GT1752 turbos (got one, picking up it's twin soon, and then just rebuild one of my other GT1752's that are lying around in bits)

supercharger - would go well with my upgraded turbo.. and would be something different. Throw the aircon away, and fit in its place.

Chargecooler - plate the stock IC, then fit the radiator on the roofrack

HX55 supercharger - replace the journal bearings with compound ball-bearings, then CNC control pulleys and belts for a total of 8:1 gearing. Powered by a 125cc bike engine, on the roof

Then there's a 50mm lift kit.... but this only a pipe dream, as the wife likes the current ride height

So... what's on everyone elses pipe-dream wish-list?

1) IRD with all the gears connected.
2) Roof rails.
3) A dry fish tank.
4) Windows that still operate after the ignition is switch off.

Actually though, my pip dream is to get a doer upper, remove the gearbox, IRD & shafts then stick a hydraulic pump on the engine to drive hydraulic motors affatched to the rear diff and another rear diff mounted (somehow!) where the IRD is to drive the front wheels. Plus some piping/valves for gearing.

Alternateltively a FWD Freelander with the rear diff rotate 90 degrees with the pinion pointing up into the boot and attached to a electric motor (up to 20HP) to give 4WD, rapid acceleration, ecconomy & regen.

No dreams... just plans :D

Still no time to fit a winch to L-series... lol

Like Winu, plans not dreams:
Alloy under tray
rear muffler protection & smaller rear muffler
rock sliders
extra set of summer wheels & tyres
lift kit + suspension re-bush + new struts/springs
Window tinting
external power sockets [F&R]

I don't have the Freelander anymore as it made way for the D3. However if I did get another, I'd like to make a KV6 engine onto a manual gearbox. I'd then like to turbocharge the KV6 to give I a proper turn of speed.

My plans for this year are an all sport intercooler, custom exhaust then a remap an some bigger wheels along with better brakes lol then after that in thinking custom injectors or just bigger ones an some styling bits done on her, in slowly replacing every old bit on mh girl an also want to look into upgrading my turbo, does anyone have any ideas on that?

I've got the freelander 2 i6 with the fantastic Volvo 3.2 engine. Volvo use this engine with twin turbos in their S60. I wouldn't mind sticking the turbos on mine, it's quick now, but that would be a different ball game.

a nice big V8 a 9 speed gearbox like the later one and a bigger boot, failing that a bit more speed out of my td4 engine and I would love a bigger boot but that will never be done.

Bigger brakes

.....or a supercharger :D

I prefer the turbo option as the engine life of a supercharged KV6 is somewhat limited.
Turbocharging is softer on the engine's internals provided the boost pressure stays sensible.
I do like look of what American tuning firm Callaway did with there supercharger installation on the KV6 Freelander.

Low range...not that we need it but it'd shut the "haters" up...

Lightweight steel bumpers would be nice and a G4 expedition roof rack.
Pipe dreams.

The rest of the plans are coming to fruition.

To me a conversation in turbo K series would be a goal....a sport suspension ....front and rear stabilizer bar....18' wheels.....a big intercooler....stainless steel exhaust trail....disc brakes all wheels....some gauges ....

Y'know Id be happy if I just fixed all its niggling little faults and got it tidied up and resprayed from where my soon to be ex wife has keyed it.

Get rid of the infernal combustion engine and drive train etc , get a large battery and 2 electric motors of around 100bhp each. Lift kit & bigger wheels.

Definitely a pipe dream. That would cost £15-20k.
