Hi all.
Ive posted about this in another thread but after much tinkering im nowhere nearer finding the cause of my 'misfire'.
I recently bought a 1999 Discovery Td5. 100000 miles and very comprehensive service history. It seems to have been very well looked after. (if that helps)
It potters around town fine and smooth but as soon as you reach around 2750 revs it just seems to fizzle out as regards power. Its like it just runs out of steam and it does judder a bit like a misfire. any hill is a no no at the moment. Hills that it used to cruise up at 50 in 5th are now barely acheivable and im doing 20 in second by the time um at the top. There is no smoke at any time. Its not like it hits a rev limiter or anything ( i have one of them on my van ) it will carry on accelerating on the flat after 3000revs all be it extremely slowly, its just like im towing a jumbo jet!
So i looked around the forums and a few common faults cropped up ie oil in the loom, (there was no oil in loom but i put a new injector harness in anyway) wastegate modulator, seized wastegate actuator, MAF, stuck or clogged egr, split pipes, all of which ive either changed or found to be not at fault.
Ive also taken the car to have the fault codes read and nothing is showing up.
Im tempted to try changing the fuel pump next but would like to hear anyones thoughts on that as that will probably cost £150 ish and im reluctant to just go ahead and do anything else just to see.
I appreciate that may just have to be what i have to do but thought i really should seek some advice on here before anything else.
