It is to prevent the car from running away downhill. How the hell can you stall going downhill?Cheers Daz, so does it keep the car at a steady speed downhill without me having to worry about speeding up downhill or going so slow that i stall?

it dunt work over 6mph,or on the flat, you can drive around with it on all the time if you want and it won't make a difference.
and only works in 1st gear....I know that should be obvious, but you have to explain things to people who want to descend uphill
