Just bought myself a freelander td4 gs , been 4 hours and loving it all ready!! Now thinking of all the modifications..... Side steps .. Light guards .and sound!!!

Now the bumper is the old grey plastic type, what would easiest way to get it nice and black?

On my old clip I sprayed the bumpers with satin spray paint. Worked quite well.

What have you guys tried?

What is it with burning Freelanders????

I used a heat gun to restore the grey first and then back to black each time I clean it - never completely black, but far easier than getting bumpers off!

I'll let someone else field that one  I cant say it my way outside anything goes

wd40 brought my bumpers back nice and only took like 5mins and have lasted 5 weeks so far and looks as good as the day i did them

If you go to a body shop paint supplier you can get a special textured plastic bumper repair paint in grey or black. I've used it on mine and changed it from faded grey to modern new looking black. It's taken years off it:) it also hides all the different shades when you put facelifted bumpers onto an early one!
