Once again after fitting a second hand unit 3 months ago the dreaded Trans fail has appeared when starting. No P on dash even though it’s in park but with the odd cycling through the box will eventually sort it’s self out and fire up. As it’s my daily driver I’m going to have to bite the bullet and buy a new one. Has anyone got a good deal recently or am I going to have to shell out £400 for a new on from island 4x4 it’s the 4.4 so easy to do at the weekend
Cheers

Not sure if @Bemble stocks or sells the XYZ switch...he may be able to either a) supply a tad cheaper or b) have a contact who can supply a tad cheaper.....

But I wouldn't expect a significant saving...they have to make a living too.

For the sake of drilling the heads off 7 rivets, do you think it would be worth stripping yours down, just in case the fault is caused by dirty contacts or a broken wire? Might end up costing you nothing to fix it.

Thing is I need it daily so may do that when I get a new one and see what the issue was. I’ve replaced it once with a second hand part and it lasted 3 months so I’m prepared to suck it up and buy new

Taken off today and split the unit part. It was full of much and grease from when I greased the linkage up. Now sorted and working ok. Cheers Phil good advice to split it and clean it.
