Hi guys, I have a 2002 TD5 ES (auto). Last year I had my XYZ switch replaced as the M & S lights kept flashing and slowly but surely the gearbox started to play up. Changed the switch and problem solved, thing is a couple of days ago I noticed that the lights have come back on but intermittently. The weather was very damp indeed and once I'd switched the "mode" button on the gear switch they went away. Today it's very damp again and the lights started flashing again.

So is there anything I can try before shelling out £230 again for a new switch, it just seems odd that it'd go again after such a short time.

might be worth trying to seal it up when its dry ,several people have repaired them if you search xyz switch

then when you have the chance plug in a nanocom or hawkeye and read the fault codes... maybe the problem is elswhere, cos there are at least 20 reasons for that which could be in toatally different places

THanks, I'll give it try this weekend, I'll give it a light blast with the hairdryer then some WD40. Hopefully that'll do the trick, if not I'll have to find someone nearby with the fault reading tools.
