Hi Everyone
I picked-up my P38 yesterday from the garage and they came with a "bad" news. When they drove test the car they had a Gearbox warning on the dash (once), they connected a T4 Test book (Hawk Eye) and saw that there was indeed a fault. We tested this together, cleared the fault changed gear with the selector and the fault was back every times. I do not remember the message fault on the Test Book but it was saying something about "timing", however they are certain that it is the XYZ Switch Gear Selector because of this message.
Unfortunately for me they did not have any parts (STC2944) available and the few 2nd ones they had came from cars with more mileage than mine. And the only one they source was rather expensive.
So I am back home without having this sorted. So now my question are
1. What symptoms should I experience?
2. Does a faulty STC2944 affect gear changes when driving?
3. When this stuff break what will happen?
Now, could it be something else? Any advise? I ordered this switch last night just in case (way cheaper than what they sourced me), still your opinion is always welcome.
