HI, DOES ANYONE KNOW IF YOU CAN FIT A SET OF DISCO 3 XENON HEADLIGHTS TO A DISCO 3 WITH STANDARD HALOGEN LIGHTS FITTED.
THE PERSON SELLING THEM SAY IT'S A CASE OF JUST PLUGGING THEM IN ,BUT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP THINK IT MIGHT NOT BE SO STRAIGHT FORWARD , ANY USEFUL COMMENTS WOULD BE GREAT.

SORRY IT'S ALL IN CAPITALS, BUT IT'S HARD ENOUGH JUST TYPING

xenon headlight run at around 1000v or something like that and there is a current altering thingy on modern cars that have them fitted. the easiest and cheapest way of getting the xennon look is to go on ebay and get some of the xennon style halogen bulbs;)

I tried some cheapie blue "xenon" ones from Ebay, they were poop.
Looked good but couldn't light for shi......
So swapped back to the originals!
Then fitted spots!

would you buy a used landy off this man?
i wasn't sugesting that you buy from him only that you might find the item interesting. you could then do your own search for another source of them if you wanted to.

Hey, bought some Xenon gas bulbs form Halfords -cough- ages back, claimed 50% brighter on standard wattage (55/65?). They are much better than standard issue..so much so i am converted from my old 90/130s..also bought some for my Dad's 200..and popped a set in my work van!

They were sellin 2-4-1 at the time. I also treid the Blue Weather bulbs..they were what i took back in exchange..couldn't light up the barn i was parked in!!

Mind you i do also have a set of KC Daylighters fitted!!:D:D

just had a mailshot from vw about their new jetta car.
it list the xenon headlights as an extra. for 765 quid!

my disco didnt cost much more than that!

i think 250 quid for fancy lights is a bit steep, you can get a pair of cibie oscars for 50 notes ;)

Xenon lights are a straight plug in conversion as long as you have the ballast resistor with them.

Personally, I use the 100w bulbs from halfrauds, nowhere near as expensive and very reliable.
