A quick question to anybody that has installed a X Defend Pedal Lock;
The installation instructions say that you should remove all carpets and mats before installation but the pictures on their own website seem to show it sat on a mat when installed. I’m going to Dynamat my Landy, so the question is should I Dynamat and carpet the floor before installing the pedal lock or should I leave it off and install the pedal lock on the bare metal and cut around it afterwards.
If I install it on bare metal I’m worried about it rattling and I don’t think it would lay flat if I try cutting the Dynamat and carpet around it to spot it rattling.

Install it on bare floor. When you do your mats then unbolt it then reinstall it.

So just use normal nuts to install it and position it, then sound proof and mats it, then re-install with the security nuts afterwards?

Mines bolted down through matts. If it’s bolted through a load of sound proofing and matts it can rub on clutch spring. Just test fit and test fit again till it’s perfect

Mine is fitted to bare floor, no rattling whatsoever (your feet are resting on it remember).
