Hiya everyone,I'm told that the wheels on my series3 are overesized, that they belong on a long wheel base(mines short base) would this have any bearing on traction off road and power on road? I'm looking to get
ALL terrain tyres for my slippery slopes but want to be sure my wheels are suitable or should they be changed? Cheers all...

What tyres are you running? A SWB can take 750 x 16 tyres with larger LWB wheels. Unless you have a Speedo for that size of tyre the Speedo ready is out by approximately 5 mph (too high). Apart from that no harm to vehicle. It comes down to aesthetics. I run 750's and personally I prefer the look.

I ran 750-16 SAT's on my lightweight - looked awesome but hard work steering. Don't know about the speedo - it never went fast enough to worry about that.

Cheers for that Information,I'm going down to my Land rover at the weekend and will check sizes.

Obviously a well thought out post this. ;)

Maybe including some photo's and tyres/rim sizes would have allowed people to respond with more useful answers.

Firstly, who is telling they are wrong?

Land Rover's where sold on several different wheel and tyre options over the years and yes they could vary.

That said, there is really no right or wrong, if they fit they are fine.

If you still have standard LR 5.5" wide steel rims, then you'll need new ones if you want to run 235/85R16's (a standard tyre fitment that works well on all Land Rovers, regardless of wheelbase).
