you've missed off the name - Simmonites.
I think that answers the question, for those shorter in the tooth than me, the Simmonite sisters dominated the 4x4 race scene about 20 years ago - up until Drew Bowler came along anyway.
so to answer your question - if i had £10k and i was on the market I'd take a look.
 
When I was rally marshalling in the '70s and '80s it was always good to see the 4x4's come through at the end, especially the V8s, a wonderful noise. They were Range Rovers and Light Weights mainly with some Series.

We went to Catterick to help at a 3 day event, trials day 1, team recovery day 2, comp safari day 3, that was educational for someone who didn't know much about Landrovers.
 
i saw that a couple of weeks ago, yep, a very well prepared piece of kit

just needs some more expensive dampers IMO and it would be ideal for budget safari racing etc.

watched a rally clip on you tube rally to the sun or something similar?? red disco 300tdi it showed the driver taking out a row of railings and a sign post:eek:

I actually wonder how on earth they rally landrovers. The understeer like hell. My disco does it, my series does it..or maybe its just the tires?Muds on the series, ASTs on the Disco, or just me, but look at this thing going:
