Not having breakdown cover that is. It comes up now and again and I think about going back with RAC as I was with them previously on my 90 and other cars and I did use them now and again. Currently though I haven't had cover for well over a year and to be honest ive never needed it. I keep everything I need for recovery in the back of my landy and I haven't had a breakdown yet that I couldn't fix at the roadside, only thing that would slow me down is parts but I now keep a limited stock of spare parts too.

So. Would you risk it and trust that if you broke down you could get yourself going again or if need be a mate could tow you home? Or would you rather have breakdown cover just in case?

i don't bother, as i have another car i can use to tow it back.. but if i were to go on long journeys around the country i'd buy it.

I've mentioned this before on here - but to summarise -
1st year AA membership cost £40.
2nd year renewal was going to cost £125 - so I moaned at them and got it for nothing for a year.
3rd year renewal they wanted £100 - so I moaned and got it for £15!!
So three years has cost me £55 which isn't bad.

I did the same with RAC!

id never go without breakdown cover , especially after being recovered around 13 times in the last two years in various vehicles from all over the country ! .........

I have a series 3 diesel tax exempt station wagon, another 2 landies and a tr6 and a mrs that drives and im not always in the car with her... definitely have it, one remote breakdown and its paid for itself over n over

cheers steve

Got Green Flag as they'll bring the caravan back as well.
Plus wouldn't want the missus stuck in the middle of nowhere if I'm elsewhere.

I thought most companies refused cover after 3 or 4 recoveries in a year

I've always had it apart from bits where I let it lapse and then rejoin a week or so later. Tend to swap about a bit to get the new member deals.

Not used it so far, not even with Series' as only drivers for the last 8 years

At Risk of sounding like a moron but whats an AA blackcard?

Its like the AA normal card.......but they cant ask questions with the black card.....think its actually called ultimate or something like that

So if I broke down and it looked like I'd been fiddling with it at the roadside they have to recover it unlike the normal AA where they're ****s

it depends some are unlimited , I have swapped a few times when it starts to run high with one company ,

had a variety of problems such as blown gearbox, broken engine mount , 2 cases of brakes on fire, fuel contramination, animal rad damage, immobilisor fault, accident damage twice, ....the list goes on somewhat
