What about a older disco 300 tdi? You could pick a decent one up, spend cash getting it in A1 condition and still have at least half of your 6k budget in your bank account. Get an ES and you get all the bells and whistles, too! :)


Yes, TDi 300's are very good, but not as good a daily car as a DII, plus the bodies on then rust faster than I can run. Come to think of it, they rust A LOT faster than I can run.:D:D
 
I still don't understand how Land Rover, amongst all car manufacturers, have been able to get away with selling vehicles with no corrosion protection as recently as 2004.

D1s were underseal in the factory, it appears D2s were not. May be that's why my discos chassis or floor pan isn't rusty but then road use and used only at the weekends may have helped in the last 14+ years :D
