Better to have 5 in tight than a herd wandering free.

If I put the partition door in line with rear axle I wouldn't get 5 big lads in.
And good luck trtsining some of mine to walk to a halter. They’d take off across the field with you dragging behind!
but what if i want to take more than 4? like next thursday when i'm going to the market. these guys aren't small, 6-700kg plus. i'm normally almost at the 3.5 tonne limit.
You sure you are not overwieght with stock & this may be causing issues?
I still say partions.
Here's why I say about weight.
This advert "says" can carry 3-6 horses/ponies.
Most it could legally carry is 3 horses/5 ponies. This is due to weight of the box.
They are crap to tow at more than 55mph and this is with all tied up horses.
And yes this is heavier than the one I sold(510xl) and mine had heavier pay load. & towed with 110tdi

Just put it as far forward as you can, if they are fairly tight in the trailer, they can't move around too much.
I very much doubt it. I have only ever met a few that could not be trained. Cattle are an easy species to train, it is the owners that are usually more difficult.
I was only joking. My cows are pretty tame but I have over 170 head so I ain’t going to spend time halter training them all.
And do shove em in tight but they can still move about.
