I fully blame the 'recovery experts'.

Is it me or were those crazy yanks pulling that thing in completely the wrong direction. i.e further into the mud and or obstruction.

It seems blatantly obvious that the recovery of that vehicle should have been mounted from the opposite 'dry' 'mud free' bank.

If I were the owner I would definately of had more input into that.

they were just pulling it further into the mud. Some power in that pickup though. I'm guessing a Dodge Diesel Cummings engine?
 
typical dumbf*ck americans. I've got a big pick up with lots of power so it must be okay. Hmmmnnn, snatch recovery with a chain, not a kinetic rope ? no wonder the axle came off ! If you watch, at one point, one of the blokes is actually astride the chain while its being pulled. To quote Jackass, if your gonna be dumb, you better be tough !
 
Wonder how much tin-worm was in the wrecked car? Seems the axle gave way a little too easily. Hope that guy an't around if I get stuck. To answer the thread question, he'd have to rip the entire engine through the floor and trash the subframe so its more likely the bodywork would give up.
 
with the freebies being independant suspension i'd say a freebie might have actually held up better or at least only one side would have been ripped out. But the weak recovery point on the front of a freebie would have gave way before the shell!
 
For some reason Michael Caine stating "You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off" comes to mind. :D:D:D
